Project 29
Space Tool [Stencil + Posters]
This drawing template was inspired by Karl Nawrot’s stencils(1) and Joseph A. David’s Plaque Découpée Universelle(2). I then asked participants to utilize my stencil to create an 11 in. by 17 in. poster that consists of their name, their poster number, the date, and “space test”. This project explores the physicality of negative space as a tool.
Figure 1/15. The design of the stencil accounts for creating letters and forms that are more rounded. Figure 2/15. Stencils being used to create posters. Figure 3/15.
